Mind-Body
More and more research agrees that good relationships can help you stay healthy. It doesn't matter if its a partner, a friend, a therapist or even a pet, relationships count.
That's because "feelings" help brain hormones to fire, (both good hormones, like seratonin, and bad ones, like cortisol). Some tips for growing your relationships can be found here.
1. Manage your relationships with your family. Find a rainy day and call them if you haven't in a while.
2. Use touch, as long as its appropriate. A gentle touch can enhance your relationship with others.
3. Try out a pet name with your significant other. It can create a special "secret" intimacy.
4. Utilize your outside. Santa Barbara is about as good as it gets! Check out a farmers' market or go to the park or beach with friends or your partner. Outings make for good memories and help cement relationships.
5. If you mess up, ask for forgiveness. Own your "ooops," being vulnerable can bolster your relationship. And, no butts - own your behavior all the way. People will love you for it. It helps create safety and intimacy.
Hypnosis
Did you know all hypnosis is really self-hypnosis?
Did you know a hypnotist can't make you do anything while in a trance state that you wouldn't otherwise be willing to do?
Hypnosis can be very efficacious in smoking cessation and getting rid of other unwanted habits. It can also be used effectively to enhance performance in many areas and help in chronic pain management.
Behavior Modification/Systematic Desensitization
This useful technique can do wonders in treating phobic anxiety surrounding such things as fear of flying, driving & even claustrophobia.
